Be a finisher

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. —2 Timothy 4:7

The verse above was part of my devotional today. It never ceases to astound me how God works in me in little ways pointing out my faults, not to persecute but as a sort of personal revelation. Finishing is a big problem for me, it is something I have struggled with my whole life. I have a tendency to start things and leave them when I find that I don't have time to finish them. I'm one of those out of sight out of mind people, if I put it away, I will forget it. I pray that the Lord will give me more wisdom on this issue in my life.

Lord our father in heaven, help us all to be finishers. Help us to complete all the projects that you want us to complete and help us realize when it is time to abandon the unnecessary ones. Give us wisdom to use our time affectively and to help us prioritize our tasks. Thank you for your love and grace, we pray in Jesus name. Amen.

New Year, New Resolutions

Starting off my new blog with my top resolutions for 2010

1.Get closer to God - take time each day for personal Bible study, pray better and meditate on the Word

2.Help children's spirituality - morning devotions, assigned bible readings

3.Loose weight, goal by Dec 31st 2010 is a range of a 60 - 80 pound loss- achieving this by Atkins, exercise and then a reduced calorie diet when I get closer to my goal.

4.Learn web design- finish the online courses.

5.Finally, sticking to a schedule and getting organized
